The Bras du Chapitre towpath
A former towpath, the Chemin du Bras du Chapitre follows a narrow arm of the Marne, with water on one side and characterful houses set against the hillside on the other. This peaceful walk, far from the noise of the city, is ideal for a first date: you walk, you talk, and you could almost be in the countryside.
The islands of Créteil
Along the water, the islands of Créteil follow one another like little havens of greenery. The Île des Ravageurs, with its picnic tables and play area, is perfect for a picnic for two. In spring and summer, the flowering banks and reflections on the river make a surprisingly romantic setting for the Paris suburbs.
Paddling together
At the end of the path, near the water sports centre, the Créteil canoe-kayak club offers paddleboard or canoe trips around the islands: a sporty, playful outing where you quickly learn to paddle in the same direction. Walkers can carry on to the port of Bonneuil-sur-Marne. On Lyad, members from Créteil share these walks; it is up to you to find your paddling partner.
